Momaya Press began with two literary-minded girls up late in a boarding school dormitory, dreaming big.
Ten years down the road, we’ve started a successful writing
contest and publishing house. We’re glad to contribute to the community of writers around the
world, and to have others take part in our dream. Monisha Saldanha earned her MBA at Harvard Business School in 2001 and has been working in publishing and internet commerce ever since. She believes that building a worldwide audience for the short story is vital to the promotion of this art form, and is proud that Momaya Press is increasingly recognised as the premiere forum for short story writers. Maya Cointreau received a degree in Russian Literature from Smith College in 1996 and has more than 10 years of experience in the publishing business: among other things, she managed and edited DCC Magazine, a trade magazine with a circulation of more than 60,000 readers, and and has published several books. Her work with Gourmand Books, a book publisher in Spain, has taken her to book fairs and award shows all over the world, and introduced her to many authors, agents, and publishers. Her most recent books are "Equine Herbs & Healing," a new book on treating horses with herbs and other natural medicines and "To The Temples," a collection of guided meditations.
