(1) Tickets Now Available for the 2006 Momaya Press Awards Ceremony

Creative writing and theatre meet at the London Review Bookshop, host of the 3rd Annual Momaya Press Awards Ceremony. The Momaya Press Awards Ceremony will feature dramatic performances of the winning short story entries by actors from the American Repertory Theatre of London. This year's winners will discuss the inspiration for their stories, and previous year's winners will discuss their latest writing projects. The event will be lively and engaging, with creative interpretation of the short stories by the actors and distribution of awards to the authors, followed by a wine reception.

In attendance will be the winning and published writers featured in the Momaya Annual Review, and the 2006 Competition judges who work at The Times Magazine, Random House, and Andrew Nurnberg Associates literary agency. Copies of the Momaya Annual Review 2006, featuring the winning authors, will be available for purchase. Tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there are only 50 seats still available. We hope you will be able to join us for this unique event.

Every year the Momaya Annual Review has a different theme. While entries for the short story competition can be on any fictional topic, the review gets its cohesion from stories, poems and artwork on a central theme, interspersed amongst the contest winners' stories. The 2007 Annual Review will feature fiction in a variety of categories from the winners of the Momaya Short Story Competition and winners of Momaya Awards, as well as a stunning collection of photographs, poems and short stories exploring "Transformation".

(3) Spread the world - the 2007 Momaya Short Story Competition is open. This year's theme is Transformation. We've all experienced it at some time, whether we wanted to or not: Life is change. The universe is in constant flux. This year's theme examines change and transformation on all levels, all planes.

Transformation can be subtle or obvious, exhilarating or sad. It may come upon us suddenly, or so quietly we don't notice what has transpired until the moment is past. Think Kafka's "Metamorphoses," Gogol's "The Nose," Vonnegut's "Galapagos." Or on a simpler level: childbirth, divorce, growing up, death, or even simpler, a haircut. A moment when our definitions change, when we transcend ourselves and emerge as someone new: "As good As It Gets," "Steel Magnolias," "Bend It Like Beckham."

Past Momaya Themes:
2006 Escape
2005 Humour
2004 Food
