(1) Update on the 2004 Competition
It's been a busy month for the Momaya Press, with frantic reading of
the excellent submissions from this year's competition. Over 130
quality submissions were received, and our judges are now in the
process of determining the finalists. Winners will be announced in
early August.
(2) Invitation - Early Submissions for 2005
The 2005 Momaya Short Story Competition is already open - so if you
were a bit too late to submit for 2004, or you've written another
work in the last month, we welcome you to submit. The purpose of our
competition is to encourage people to experiment in the art of the
short story. Don't be afraid to take risks.
(3) Need Inspiration? Check out the 2005 theme:
Every year the Momaya Annual Review has a different theme. While
entries for the short story competition can be on any fictional
topic, the review gets its cohesion from stories, poems and artwork
on a central theme, interspersed amongst the contest winners'
stories.
This year's Annual Review will feature fiction in a variety of
categories from the winners of the Momaya Short Story Competition and
winners of Momaya Awards, as well as a stunning collection of
photographs, poems and short stories exploring humor, parody and
satire.
